AdvancedMPS are looking for Senior Mining Consultants with 5+ years underground experience. Full-time opportunities available.

As a Senior Mining Consultant at AdvancedMPS, you will be instrumental in supporting our existing Mining Consulting department, as well as assisting with the development and optimisation of client mining teams, both nationally and internationally.

Reporting to the Mining Consulting Manager, you will be working closely with AdvancedMPS consultants and various clients to provide operational expertise. This position will involve a combination of FIFO and Fremantle office based work and may provide opportunities for international travel. As part of our innovative business structure we can provide various working rosters from a choice of locations.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

Key functions of the role may include:

  • Assist clients with mine design, scheduling and planning
  • Engineering department process mapping for clients
  • Engineering department review and optimisation for clients
  • Provide Client engineer department management and optimisation
  • Provide Client engineers with best practice training and mentoring
  • Development and implementation of operational procedures and systems
  • Complete mine design and optimisation work
  • Assist AdvancedMPS Senior Consultants with Client technical department optimisations, system implementations and project management
  • Provide mentoring and training of both AdvancedMPS and Client employees
  • Provide Engineering expertise for development & improvement of AMPS training courses and LiveMine software

 

Selection Criteria

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
  • 5+ years’ experience in underground operations/engineering, ideally in base metals
  • Completion of underground operation time and Mine Managers Qualification highly regarded
  • Strong commitment to quality and safety in the workplace
  • Relevant exposure to projects in the Australian mining industry, either in operations or a similar consultancy role
  • A current Australian manual driver’s license
  • Understanding of mine design, planning and scheduling process
  • Familiar with mine design software
  • Knowledge of drilling and blasting principles, practices, and procedures for either narrow vein or bulk mining methods.

AdvancedMPS are looking for Mining Production Engineers with 2-4 years underground experience. Full-time opportunities available.

Reporting to the Mining Consulting Manager, as a Production Engineer you will be working closely with other AdvancedMPS consultants and various clients to provide production engineering expertise.

This position may involve a combination of FIFO and Fremantle office based work and may provide opportunities for international travel. As part of our innovative business structure we can provide various working rosters from a choice of locations.

Key functions of the role may include:

  • Complete stope design and optimisation work
  • Complete drill and blast design work on-site or from the Perth office
  • Assist clients with on-site production engineering requirements
  • Assist clients with short to medium term planning and scheduling requirements
  • Assist AMPS Senior Consultants with client technical department optimisations & system implementations
  • Provide Engineering input for development and improvement of AMPS training courses and LiveMine software

 

Selection Criteria

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
  • 1-4 years’ experience in underground operations/engineering, ideally in base metals
  • Completion of underground operation time highly regarded

As an Underground Geologist at AMPS, you will be instrumental in supporting our existing Geology department, as well as assisting with the development and optimisation of client Geology teams, both nationally and internationally.

Reporting to the Geology Consulting Manager, you will be responsible for providing geological support to clients by coordinating the collection, analysis and interpretation of geological data.

Roles and Responsibilities

The scope of the role varies, but key functions include:

  • Underground development face mapping and sampling
  • Wall and backs mapping and sampling
  • Geological logging, sampling and processing
  • Interpretation of grade control and drilling data
  • Formulation of work quality requirements and documentation
  • Working collaboratively with the AMPS Geology department, onsite Geologists and other relevant team members
  • Supporting and assisting with the development of continuous improvement initiatives and;
  • Facilitating the daily functioning of the Geology department

 

Selection Criteria

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology, honours viewed favorably
  • 2+ years’ experience in an underground operation
  • Experience using 3D modelling software
  • Experience in underground development face mapping and sampling
  • Geological and grade control logging experience

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Solid understanding of Mining Geology
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work safely and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test
